Current Groups & Workshops

Group therapy at Calming Reins is practical, collaborative, and grounded in connection. Each group is intentionally small and structured around evidence-based modalities like DBT, ERP, and SPACE — all offered in a calm, supportive environment.

Groups take place in the therapy cottage at River Run Ranch in Carnation, with occasional outdoor or nature-based sessions as the weather allows.

Facing Fears: Anxiety Group for Kids (Ages 8–12)

  • Co-led by JoAnna Frazier McBride, LMFT & Stephanie Pickering, Ph.D.

  • Format: Small group (4–6 children + parents)

Facing Fears helps anxious kids and their parents build confidence through CBT and exposure-based work — with structure, support, and plenty of room to move. Parents and kids attend together to learn skills, reduce avoidance, and face fears one step at a time.

Spring 2025: Fridays, April 25 – June 6 | 3–5pm (No group May 2 or May 23)

Summer Intensive: August 4–8 | 10am–12pm
